Overview

The "tuff villages" of Pitigliano, Sorano, and Sovana are part of "the Tufo area," which is marked by the Vie Cave (Cavoni), valleys locked between dramatic and high tuff walls. The tour will begin at Pitigliano, a gem, an amazing and interesting place that appears to spring from the tuff rock. You will find Various Etruscan necropolis carved into the tuff between Sovana and Sorano. and see the reddish buildings meld with the sandstone.

Itinerary

Day 1 :

Meet our Suit Travel Representative upon arrival in Tuscany. Transfer to the hotel for check-in, a warm welcome, and a tour introduction. On this day, you will stroll around Pitigliano, known as a little Jerusalem. In this village you will pass through narrow alleys with incredible arches and visit the Jewish Ghetto, Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, S. Rocco. Lunch in a local restaurant and enjoy Tuscany traditional cuisine. We continue the journey to visit Orsini Palace and admire their beautiful courtyard and visit the Civic Archaeological Museum of Etruscan Civilization. Free program, you can explore the villages. Dinner in leisure time, back to the hotel.

Day 2 :

Breakfast at the hotel, and we begin to visit Sorano, known as the Matera of Tuscany, due to numerous rock structures cut from the tuff that give it this impressive status. We will visit the Collegiate Church of San Niccol, Masso Leopoldina and the clock tower via a tangle of streets, steps, courtyards, little arches, and cellars excavated into the tuff. We then continue our journey to the next village, Sovana, on a tufaceous cliff that dominates an area with ancient tombs and a necropolis, attesting to a strong Etruscan presence. Here we will find one of the most important Etruscan necropoleis in the Città del Tufo Archaeological Park, Cathedral San Pietro, and San Mamiliano Museum.

Lunch and we will take you to Cascate del Mulino, the famous Saturnia waterfalls. You can enjoy the natural spring and sulphurous waters at 37 °c degrees.

In the late afternoon we will take you to Return to Pitigliano for an aperitif and food and wine tasting at a typical Enoteca di Pitigliano in the evening. Dinner at leisure time and free program.

Day 3:

Breakfast at the hotel, check out and departure.

If you cancel 3 days or more before the tour, you will receive a full refund minus the administrative expenses.

VIP Tours, Transfer Tours & Group Tours:

If you cancel more than 8 days before the tour, you will receive a full refund minus administrative fees.

From 7 to 4 days, you’ll get a 50% refund.

If you cancel within three days and do not show up, you will not be refunded.

Force majeure

In the event of a cancellation due to force majeure, please notify [email protected] by email. We might issue you a voucher for the entire sum paid or depending on the agreement.

Suite Travel Cancellation

We will only cancel excursions in the event of unforeseen events beyond our control that may risk your safety. If your tour is cancelled, we will offer you alternate options such as a different day, a different trip, or a complete refund if none of the options is suitable for you.
