Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Arrival at the Cinque Terre Park during the day and accommodation will be arranged in the Farm Holiday. You can unwind yourselves with a complimentary dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: The Cinque Terre Park
You will be received by the tour guide post breakfast, where you will directly depart by train for Riomaggiore, which is the very first village of the Cinque Terre Park, and this is how the adventure begins. The Cinque Terre National Park is a magnificent stretch of pristine cliffs that is the only untamed part of the Italian Riviera. The name is derived from the five picturesque fishing villages namely Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso. For centuries, this area has been unreachable by land, surrounded by steep mountains and valleys on one side and by the sea on the other. Because of its isolation, the Cinque Terre’s breathtaking aura is shielded by a World Heritage Site and a National Park. First activity of the day, which is trekking, will begin from the most famous path, the “Blue Path” from where all the villages will be consecutively covered and the duration of the trek is about 5 hours. The beauty of this area, which is densely packed with churches and sanctuaries, stems from the unique man made landscape, with terraces overlooking the sea and vineyards for the production of DOC wines such as “Sciacchetrà”, along with endless olive groves. Lunch and dinner shall be provided for free with an overnight stay.
Day 3: Monterosso al Mare between wine trekking
The day begin with a good breakfast, and then you will proceed towards wine – trekking, where you will cover the panoramic route which will make you discover some of the most spectacular vineyards of the Cinque Terre, an area recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. (For every two members, the farm provides a snack consisting of two sandwiches, one bottle of Cinque Terre DOP wine, two half-litre water bottles, and seasonal fruits for a picnic in the vineyards.) You will be taken to the wine cellar, where you will be able to taste local foods and wines produced in the vineyards. It is a brilliant way to explore the history of vineyards as well as the traditions of this region. Following that, we will take a tour of Monterosso al Mare, the largest town in the Cinque Terre, which is situated in the centre of a small natural gulf. The white sandy beaches, which are not found in the other Cinque Terre villages, are a sight to behold, and the cliff on which the Capuchin convent is perched is a visual treat. With an overnight stay, a later dinner will be provided for free.
Day 4: Trekking on Palmaria Island and aperitif on board of an historic boat
You will be received by the guide in the morning after breakfast, and will be taken by boat to the Palmaria Island. There shall be a circular trekking route, where you will find easy pathways and stunning blooms and you will find yourself submerged in an environment of suggestive and untainted beauty. The duration of the trek will be approximately 2h and 30 min. Then we will return to Portovenere by boat and free lunch shall be provided. The afternoon will be dedicated to the tour of Portovenere, a splendid village with the small Church of San Pietro, built on the village’s extreme point from where you can enjoy a delightful sea view, the 12th century Castle, the Sanctuary of the White Madonna and the Byron’s Cave, where the English poet took a trip and gain inspiration for his poems. At sunset, you will embark on an ancient leudo, a traditional Ligurian boat, and sail along the coast between the pastel-colored houses of the ancient village and the immaculate island of Palmaria, with one-of-a-kind backdrop. The open sea breeze and emerald waters precede us as we discover the sculpted coasts and hidden bays up to the Via dell’Amore.
In that Victorian style, you can enjoy an aperitif based on classic Ligurian products, such as the delectable Monterosso anchovies, toasting in the middle of the sea with the traditional wine of the vineyards that you will cherish. Soon you can relax with a refreshing dip in the moonlight.
With an overnight stay, a later dinner will be provided for free.
